From May through September, the CT Blues Society sponsors a Blues Jam at The Chicken Shack at The Farm at Carter Hill in Marlborough CT. The final jam in the 2026 series is Thursday September 3. The CTBS All-Stars (River City Slim, Phil Caron and Joey Primo) are the house band with our featured artist - ace guitarist Steve Balkun. Steve currently tours with The balkun Brothers as well as solo shows as 'Thumb-Bone'. The Chicken Shack is a rustic barn setting, with tables indoors and huge side doors that open to a field for outdoor seating. Musicians bring your instruments - amps, drums, keyboards and PA are provided. Come out to play with some of the best Blues musicians in CT.

The 26th Annual Black-Eyed & Bluesfest @ The Riverfront

NEW LOCATION- Mortensen Riverfront Plaza 300 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, CT

There will be a food tent by Black-Eyed Sally's, a beer & wine tent, Ben and Jerry's, and the Connecticut Blues Society tent with all our swag.

3pm Hartford's Young Hannah & Crew-This is Hartford's youth Blues band produced by the legendary XY Eli

4pm The Chicago Dawgs-The 2025 Connecticut Blues Society challenge winner

5pm Sweet Daddy Cool Breeze-The 2019 Connecticut Blues Society challenge winner

6pm Amani Burnham-Blind Pigs Records recording artist from Middleton CT. Guitar World says "Burnham is blowing minds with his fretwork" . His debut album, "Roots & Wings" honors the legacy of blues-rock giants while heralding a bold new voice for a new generation. More Info

7:30pm GA-20-Since its inception the accolades continue to roll in for GA-20. American Songwriter says the band plays “rough and tumble, relentless blues” with “maximum intensity rocking.” UK tastemaker magazine MOJO says GA-20 makes “a joyful noise,” and the Guardian UK writes, “If you care to know how a rowdy 1950s Chicago juke joint sounded, GA-20 are here to help. They keep things simple and fierce…scything, growling riffs, driving grooves, blistering boogies and defiant vocals”. More Info

Parking:
Free parking for this event is available on-street on both sides of the river. Paid, convenient parking is available in the Connecticut Convention Center Garage – park on the fifth floor and use the exit on the north side of the garage, allowing direct access to the Convention Center, Connecticut Science Center, and Mortensen Riverfront Plaza.

No outside alcohol -beer and wine will be sold by approved vendors on-site

Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after at all times under Hartford park regulations

Eran Troy Danner Fundraiser (09/27/2026)

Most of you know that our brother in the Blues, Eran Troy Danner, was involved in a horrific accident at the end of June that has necessitated his hospitalization since then. Eran is facing a long road to recovery and needs our help to ensure that he can travel that road. To that end the Connecticut Blues Society is sponsoring a benefit show. Featured will be The Eran Troy Danner Band with a special guest filling in for the big man. A second band TBA, followed by an Invitational Jam with the CTBS All-Stars as the house band and a list of fabulous guest stars. All proceeds go to Eran and his family. Please come out and support our brother in need and have a good time while doing it!
