Gulf Coast recording artist Jimmy Carpenter brings his all-star band (featuring CT native Chris Tofield) to Hartford! Last year he released his sixth album in a series of critically acclaimed releases. In 2026, he received his 11th BMA nomination for Best Instrumentalist/Horn (he won in 2021 and 2022). Jimmy tours internationally with his own band, and as a member of Bill Murray & His Blood Brothers, and is the Musical Director of The Big Blues Bender, one of the hottest Blues festivals in the world. He is also a Grammy winner, having co-written a tune on The New Orleans Nightcrawlers’ winning album, Atmosphere. A professional musician since 1980, He has toured the world with Tinsley Ellis, Jimmy Thackery, Walter Wolfman Washington, Eric Lindell, and Mike Zito. When he isn’t on the road, he can be found in Las Vegas, playing the long-running Blues bar The Sand Dollar, and serving as President of the Las Vegas Blues Society. A cornerstone of Jimmy's band is guitarist extraordinaire CT native son Chris Tofield. Don't miss this special show!

CTBS Jam at The Chicken Shack featuring Chris Vitarello (08/06/2026)

From May through September, the CT Blues Society sponsors a Blues Jam at The Chicken Shack at The Farm at Carter Hill in Marlborough CT. The next jam in the series is Thursday August 6. The CTBS All-Stars (River City Slim, Phil Caron and Joey Primo) are the house band with our featured artist - ace guitarist Chris Vitarello. Chris currently tours with The Darrell Nulisch Band, Vanessa Collier and Diane Blue and leads his own local band The Brew Masters. The Chicken Shack is a rustic barn setting, with tables indoors and huge side doors that open to a field for outdoor seating. Musicians bring your instruments - amps, drums, keyboards and PA are provided. Come out to play with some of the best Blues musicians in CT.
